What I found interesting about
the campaign this week is the new SNL skit about
the second Presidential debate. With Election Day in a
couple weeks things are starting to get real personal and real
serious, really fast. So to throw in a laugh I thinkthis SNL skit does the
job. From the body language to the talking over each other it captures the
night with a funny twist. Check it out.
What I found interesting about the campaign this week was thenew Obama ad that
makes fun of Mitt Romney's "Big Bird" comment. Since
we know how Romney feels about Big Bird, we get to see how Obama feels. " Mitt Romney knows it's not Wall Street
you have to worry about; it's Sesame Street", says the narrator in
the video. The newObama ad is
very entertaining butbecause
of the humor, many feel it may hurt him in the election.
Hello
all, so today I was looking at the new October issue of InStyle magazine and I
found seven new great fragrances being advertised. The smells of the
fragrances are unbelievable; they range from fruity, feminine,
and sexy and let me tell you this is something I had to share. So let me
not keep you waiting, and maybe you can them at your local department
store. :)

Breast Cancer Awareness Month (Quick Information)
October is also Breast Cancer Awareness month and while looking through InStyle magazine I found something very interesting. Ralph Lauren has an organization called Pink Pony . The Pink Pony fund is Ralph Lauren's worldwide initiative in the fight against cancer. Their mission is to reduce disparities in cancer care
and help women who are less fortunate in getting
treatment in medically underserved communities .
Thanks again for reading Underground Class With love, Tyra
This
was a very interesting week on the campaign trail. This past Wednesday was
the first presidential debate and, of course Mitt Romney made headlines
the next day. One thing that caught everyone's attention was the "Big
Bird" comment made by Mitt Romney that said "I'm going to stop
the subsidy to PBS ... I like PBS. I love Big Bird. But I'm not going to
keep spending money on things to borrow money from China to pay for
it." Big Bird is one of the most lovable and memorable
characters on Sesame Street. Once again Mitt Romney
is attacking the underdog!
So this week I got to talk with
Com 1002 classmate Michael Faucher. I got to know him a little more outside of
the classroom and let me tell you he is pretty cool. Don't believe me? Check out the interview for yourselves.
Hope you enjoy!
Here are some excerpts from the interview.
Q: Where are you from?
A: "I am from a small town in upstate New York called
Castancha near the Syracuse area."
Q2: So you know how people that aren't from the city sometimes say
"The city has changed them or an opinion that they had " do you feel
the same?
A: "I don't feel the city has necessarily changed who I am as
a person but it has opened me up to a lot of new experiences and has validated
some of my preconceptions about it, not in a bad way but there is differently a
lot to do here and I am enjoying it a lot more then my hometown at the
moment".
Q3: What are you studying?
A: "Right now I am studying Journalism and it has played a big part
in the fact that I have gotten into the radio station and that's been a big
part in my time here".
I didn't find anything interesting on the campaign trail this
week. I did however, register to vote (round of applause!) and I am very
excited to be voting for the first time. To register I visited Rock the Vote and it was quick and easy. So if
you are not registered to vote, join now and become a registered voter
just like me.
For class we had to post what we found most interesting about the campaign
this week. Since I know my classmates will post the 47% comment made
by Mitt Romney, I decided to have a little fun with my
post. This is what I found most interesting about the campaign this
week, a Saturday
Night Live skit on how Ann Romney feels about the campaign.
I found this interesting because usually when you see the spouse of the
candidate on a show it always brings attention to see how they feel about the
campaign trail and with a First lady like Michelle Obama, Ann Romney has big competition.
